Singer & Songwriter Michael Miller Passes

Michael Miller, the lead singer and songwriter of the band Blue Stew died April 8, 2008, in Ventura, California. He was 56.

A touring musician since the 1970's, Miller performed with Big Joe Turner, Joe Houston, and the Drifters, among many others.

Blue Stew released four CDs, including Stumbling Blocks & Stepping Stones and Headed South, which produced the single "Lafayette Cajun Fest and Fais-Do-Do." The band's most recent appearance was at Memphis' International Blues Challenge in February. Miller also released one solo CD in 2004, Homeward.

Miller is survived by his wife, Julie; a son, Justin; and his mother, Yvonne Carr.
