The Musical Rangers of the New Orleans Jazz National Park featuring Leroy Etienne & Mike Harris

Join the JAZZ rangers and our Jazz Yoga team as we support our sister park, Jean Lafitte National 
Historical Park & Preserve during “Better Health BaYOU”. 
 
Get out and get active! That’s the message for Saturday, November 16, when the Barataria Preserve of Jean 
Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve sets the stage for health and outdoor fun on Better 
Health BaYOU! Day. From 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., the free family-friendly event will host a health fair, 
outdoor activities, games, dancing, and music at the Pecan Grove area of the Barataria Preserve, 6588 
Barataria Blvd. in Marrero (near Crown Point). More information is available at 504-689-3690 ext. 10 or at

The day’s activities include: 
  • Ranger-led trail walks at 11:00 a.m., noon, 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.
  • Jazz yoga with Peter Nu and Susan Landry from 11:15 a.m.-noon. 
  • Zumba and line dancing 12:15-1:00 p.m. and 1:15-2:00 p.m. 
  • Performance of “Songs from the Underground Railroad” by the musical rangers of New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park featuring special guests Leroy Etienne and Mike Harris. 2:15-3:00 p.m.
