The Rev. William Miller, Rector of Christ Episcopal Church is not only a priest, but a lover of jazz music. Fr. Bill, as he is affectionately called, will once again host Jazz in January, a three-day jazz event, Jan. 20 - Jan. 22, that combines jazz music with the churches spiritual works. Jazz concerts will be held on Friday and Saturday nights. Fr. Bill will also have two jazz masses on Sunday. Among the musicians performing: world-renowned drummer, Les DeMerle, will lead the way as The Dynamic Les DeMerle Orchestra and vocalist Bonnie Eisele kicks off the Jazz weekend. Tim Laughlin pays tribute to Pete Fountain on Saturday night and Sunday masses will be a “Tribute to Duke Ellington,” with local jazz pianist Matt Lemmler along with a special choir, vocalists, and tap dancer Bobby Bonsey.
