Benjamin Booker, who graces the cover of the current issue of Gambit Weekly, performs two blues-punk-pop songs from his eponymous debut album on ATO records: "Violent Shiver" and "Have You Seen My Son?". These versions were recorded live at WFUV, Fordham University.

Alex Woodward's Gambit piece traces the rise of Booker's career. After college, he landed in New Orleans, working for a non-profit (HandsOn) where he "kept the radio dialed to WWOZ-FM," a window to "a previously unheard, undiscovered world of blues, R&B and rock 'n' roll". Within two years, Booker went from "from candlelit acoustic gigs upstairs at Mimi's" to opening for Jack White and appearing on Letterman.
