LeTrainiump

LeTrainiump is an up-and-coming pop singer/songwriter from Mamou, Louisiana who is capturing the Gulf South’s musical imagination through his live performances and recordings, including his 2024’s Tiny Desk entry, “Like We’re in a Movie.”

LeTrainiump, born LeTrainiump Richard, was influenced early on by diverse sounds including the synthesizers in “Reading Rainbow,” Michael Jackson, neighborhood zydeco from the likes of Keith Frank and Chris Ardoin, and his mom’s classic R&B, such as Luther VanDross’s classic “Dance with Your Father.” Spin all these influences into today’s musical vortex and find LeTrainiump at the center with contemporary, unique musical stylings. He has performed with Tank and the Bangas, Pell, Alfred Banks, and HaSizzle. In 2020, he was part of the virtual Band Together Benefit alongside Grammy-winning PJ Morton and other New Orleans music luminaries including Ivan Neville and Kermit Ruffins. More recently, he appeared on the critically acclaimed eponymous debut from Pell’s glbl wrmng collective. Singles also include the 2021 hit “So Alive.”
