Dave Jordan is a leading New Orleans singer-songwriter and guitarist who is extremely active as a writer and performer. His hook-heavy lyrics find larger meaning in the small nuggets of daily life, while his melodies and rhythms energize crowds and keep the dancers moving. Jordan was the founder and frontman for the long-running band Juice, and currently plays solo, in small combos, or with his present band, the NIA (Neighborhood Improvement Association). He has played with a Top Ten list of American roots rockers: Bob Weir and Ratdog, Los Lobos, Anders Osborne, Little Feat, and Widespread Panic. His song “Biggest Little Shrimp in Town” was recorded by Art Neville and became the title track to an award-winning short film; his song “Hubig’s Pie,” from his stellar album “Bring Back Red Raspberry,” celebrates a particular New Orleans snack and became a soundtrack to local news broadcasts when the Hubig’s company returned the pies to production after a fire burned the factory.
