The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation's free music school, the Don "Moose" Jamison Heritage School of Music, is accepting new students ages 10 to 17. Come to the auditions on Saturday, September 13, 10a, at Dillard University to get in that number.

WWOZ Hits the Road: "Join The Movement" Concert Series

The last two stops on the "Join the Movement Tour": Ellis Bignar on August 22 at Benny's Place in Hammond, and West Without on August 23 Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge. WWOZ and the Healthier Air for All Campaign present these shows to promote healthy, smoke-free environments for Louisiana musicians and fans.

The Krewe of O.A.K. will host its annual Mid-Summer Mardi Gras parade on Saturday, August the 23, 2014. This year's theme being "Rub It All Over Your Body" will congregate at the Maple Leaf Bar at 7 p.m. for the Royal Balcony Ceremony.
