1. General

a. What is the recommended contribution for a basic membership?

WWOZ is all about inclusion, not exclusion, so every gift of any amount makes you a member. We have faith that members will give the most they can because they believe in the music and mission of listener-supported New Orleans community radio.

b. Is my pledge contribution tax-deductible?

Yes, your contribution to WWOZ is fully tax-deductible minus the fair market (retail) value of any thank you gifts you receive. You will receive your tax donation thank you letter in the mail. Please consult your tax advisor with questions about the tax deductible portion of your donation.

c. When will my membership be due for renewal?

One year from your last renewal contribution. We'll send you notices starting a few months before — responding ASAP saves 'OZ mailing costs. If you have questions, please call (504) 568-1239 or email donorservices@wwoz.org.

d. My employer participates in the employee matching gift program. How do I enroll?

You may be able to double your donation to WWOZ. Please ask your employer whether they have a Corporate Matching Gifts program. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, 'OZ (as Friends of WWOZ) is eligible for these programs. Send a matching gift form from your Human Resources Department along with your membership contribution to:

2. Thank You Gifts and Brass Passes

a. What thank you gifts are available?

See the detailed descriptions of our thank you gifts.

b. When will my thank you gift arrive?

If you requested a thank you gift when you pledged, you'll receive your gift(s) within 4 to 6 weeks. If it has been longer, please call Membership at (504) 568-1239 or email donorservices@wwoz.org. We appreciate your patience.

c. Can I get thank you gifts from past membership drives?

It depends on what we have left over. Email donorservices@wwoz.org or call Membership at (504) 568-1239 to find out if a particular item is available and at what pledge level.  

d. Where is my Brass Pass?

For security reasons, we do not mail Brass Passes. You can add the $50.00 FedEx charge by clicking the shipping option when purchasing your Brass Pass. If you have any questions about shipping your Brass Pass email donorservices@wwoz.org or call the Membership Department at 504.568.1239. There will also be several opportunities prior to Jazz Fest to pick them up, or you can go to WWOZ's Will Call at the Fest. Stay tuned to our Brass Pass Pickup page for details.

3. Krewe of Roux Monthly Sustainer Memberships

a. What is a Krewe of Roux Monthly Sustainer Membership?

A Krewe of Roux sustaining member agrees to make a monthly contribution to WWOZ on an ongoing basis via a credit or debit card. Select any amount you feel comfortable with (minimum $5 per month), provide us your credit card information, and your contribution will automatically be deducted from your card each month. Your membership will never expire and you'll avoid renewal notices!

b. What are my payment options?

Currently, we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit or debit cards.

c. When will my card be charged each month?

Your card will be charged on the same day of the month that you began your membership. For example, if you submitted your information on October 10th, your first payment would be processed immediately, and all subsequent payments would be processed on the 10th of each month.

d. Will my credit card information be secure?

Yes. Your credit card information is encrypted on our secure online database, which has the highest level of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. No one — not even WWOZ staff — will be able to view the details of your credit card information.

e. Can I still get my thank you gifts?

Absolutely. You will be asked to select which thank you gift you would like when you initially sign up, and you will receive that within a few weeks. Each year on your membership anniversary, we will send you a letter with the option to request that year's thank you gift.

Please note that your gift will not be mailed until the 5th payment has been made & received.

Also note that monthly sustainer and installment plans CANNOT be used to pay for a Brass Pass or other live event passes.

f. Why did I receive a reminder when I already sent my contribution?

Sometimes payments get credited to a membership account after we send renewal notices or pledge reminders. Please disregard the extra reminder and accept our apologies. Occasionally, your payment may not have been recorded as a renewal. If you are concerned, call Membership at (504) 568-1239 or email  donorservices@wwoz.org.

g. What if I want to change the amount of my monthly contribution?

You can change the amount of your donation at any time. Just call the Membership office at (504) 568-1239 or email donorservices@wwoz.org. There is also an option to update your donation amount included in the return portion of your membership anniversary letter.

h. How do I cancel my membership?

To cancel your membership at any time, call the Membership office at (504) 568-1239 or email donorservices@wwoz.org.

i. Can I get a Brass Pass, Tips & Rock 'N Bowl Pass or House of Blues Pass with my sustaining membership?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer the Brass Pass or any other live event pass as a thank you item for a Monthly Sustaining Membership. Those must be paid in full at the time of purchase.

4. Gift Memberships

a. Can I give membership as a gift to someone?

Absolutely! You pay for the membership (at any level), and the other person receives the benefits. When you fill out the Brass Pass donation form online, check the box labeled "This is an honor or memorial gift" and enter the information in the boxes that appear. You can also call (504) 568-1239 to arrange this.

b. How can I include WWOZ in my estate plans?

A planned gift for WWOZ can be an outright gift, a life income gift, or a charitable bequest, and it can be made during your lifetime or at the time of death. 5. Privacy and Mailing Lists

a. Will WWOZ give out my mailing address, phone number or email address?

Our privacy policy stipulates that while WWOZ does reserve the right to use member information for our own marketing purposes, WWOZ will not rent, trade or sell member information to other organizations or individuals.

b. How can I change my mailing address?

If you move, please email donorservices@wwoz.org or call (504) 568-1239 with both your old and new mailing addresses. Your updated address information saves WWOZ mailing costs, so please keep us in mind as you update your information!

c. How do I get off your mailing list?

Simply email donorservices@wwoz.org or call (504) 568-1239 and ask to have all mailings stopped.
