The 15th annual Essence Music Festival returns to New Orleans July 3-5, with national and local performers from Anita Baker and Al Green to Trombone Shorty and Irvin Mayfield, as well as daytime seminars with the likes of Bill Cosby, Al Sharpton, and Omarosa. WWOZ's own Soul Sister will also be spinning rare grooves at the close of each performance day on the main stage. Don't miss this unique July 4th weekend experience!

Mother-In-Law Lounge Needs Your Help

After the passing of Miss Antoinette K-Doe, the future of the Mother In Law Lounge (dedicated to the legacy of Ernie K-Doe) was in question. But Antoinette’s daughter, Betty Fox, wants the world to know that the Lounge is back in action after a brief hiatus and has a couple of very important events coming up — and she needs some helping hands to make them happen.

Voodoo Experience 2009 Lineup

New Orleans music fans can see the cream of Crescent City music makers like Trombone Shorty and Rebirth Brass Band at Le Flambeau Stage. Le Carnival Stage is the spot for an eclectic mix that includes the Happy Talk Band and the Zydepunks. Head over to Le Ritual Stage for national acts like the Pogues, Kiss and Eminem.

We want our creative 'OZ fans to design our next T-shirt, so we're holding a contest! We want something that combines a New Orleans vibe with the warm fuzziness of WWOZ.
