Karate athletes across the country will travel here to fight for the gold in the Japan Karate Association National & Collegiate Championships. Athletes compete in both forms (kata) and sparring (kumite) divisions and are judged on power, speed, timing, body dynamics and fighting spirit. Come watch athletes display their refined technique, and learn more about karate, a traditional Japanese martial art that trains mind & body connection and promotes peace. Elimination rounds begin Saturday at 9 with youth divisions, then seniors, followed by adults. Finals will take place Sunday at 10. Entry is free for children 12 and younger.
