New Orleans Mission Christmas Celebration

DATE
Sat, Dec 21, 2013
TIME
11:00am - 2:00pm

The New Orleans Mission will host its annual community Christmas celebration this Saturday, December 21st, from 11 am until 2 pm, at its facility at 1130 O.C. Haley Boulevard. The event, which includes free meals, chapel service, toys for kids and a visit by Santa Claus, aims to share the holiday spirit with the entire local community, especially those who may be struggling this time of year.

The event, which is open to everyone, kicks off Saturday at 11:00 a.m. when local children ages 1-14 begin arriving. The Mission’s chapel service will be held from 11-11:30 a.m., followed by a delicious Christmas meal that includes turkey and ham. Then, at noon, Santa Claus will arrive a few days early to visit with the children and distribute several hundred toys, which have been donated by various groups from across the city.

Anyone interested in participating in this event or making a donation can stop by the New Orleans Mission or call 504-523-2116 for more information.
