In these days of media consolidation, if only one place in the world were to be left with a unique, homegrown, locally-focused radio station, it should be New Orleans.

There’s no other place in America where so many people can name dozens of local bands and musicians. I know of no other town where families decide what day they’ll attend an oyster festival (or tomato festival, or crawfish festival or….) based on which band is closing out the main stage. And no place is like New Orleans when it comes to cherishing music education, cultural preservation and fancy footwork.

So please pitch in. Do your part to keep New Orleans music on New Orleans airwaves. Tens of thousands of people depend on you to keep local flavor, local culture and real-life, living, breathing, occasionally-fumbling, always-striving radio DJs on the FM dial.

It’s never too late to support local music. Start by making a donation today.
