1) It's time for the WWOZ Groove Gala!!! We'll be partying on Thursday, September 6 for the benefit of the station. As of this post time, we have just a few tickets remaining! Join us for a delightful night of delicious food, cocktails, and performances from Irma Thomas, Dr. Michael White, Amanda Shaw, Treme Brass Band, Doreen Ketchens, Gregory Agid Trio, Joe Krown, and Michael O'Hara at Tableau and Le Petit Theatre.

2) A few recent highlights on our 2-week archive: DJ Swamp Boogie's Thursday night tribute to the late Lazy Lester, Neil Pellegrin's Tuesday night tribute to Lester, and Riverdale High School's appearance on the first School Groove of the 2018-19 school year. Plus, check out Action Jackson's interview with Eric Waters, photographer and co-author of Freedom's Dance, Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs in New Orleansthis week on Takin' It To The Streets.

3) Labor Day weekend in New Orleans means its time for Southern Decadence in the French Quarter! Decadence is the largest gay event in New Orleans. The street party runs around the clock through Monday, and circuit party dance events take place at night. Plus, a big parade (of course!) on Sunday.

4) Tipitina's Foundation Free Fridays continues with a concert from John Papa Gros and Soul Project NOLA this week.

5) Wednesday, September 5 = 6 months to Mardi Gras!!! Just sayin'.
