Each year, WWOZ puts out a new CD with some of the best sounds of New Orleans and where we've been in the previous 12 months. CD #44, If Only You Knew, is one of the finest we've put together yet, filled with rip-roaring music from local and national acts recorded live by WWOZ. This 12-song compilation includes songs from Jazz Fest, WWOZ's Piano Night, Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest, and the North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic. These tracks are some of our favorites from the many fantastic live performances that the WWOZ engineers recorded for your listening pleasure. As always, this CD is available only to new or renewing WWOZ members during the Fall Pledge Drive who pledge at the $120 level or above.

The album kicks off with two tracks from the 2015 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival: "Nigeria" from Khari Allen Lee and "Interzone" from Jason Marsalis Vibe Quartet. Colin Lake's appearance at Jazz Fest is also included, with "I'm Trying To Tell You," a song from his latest album One Thing That's For Sure. There are two songs from WWOZ's performance studio from Margie Perez & Muevelo "Quimbara" and the incredibly stirring New Orleans vocalist Erica Falls with "Dance."

Cuba's Jorge Luis Pacheco hit the stage at WWOZ's 2015 Piano Night with a fantastic performance. "Con El Pache Me Voy" was taken from this, one of his only New Orleans appearances. Jarekus Singleton's "Crime Scene" is from the October 2015 Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest, the 10th annual incarnation of this free event in Lafayette Square in New Orleans' Central Business District.

Get your blues fill from Kenny Brown featuring Alvin Youngblood Hart and their performance of "How Many More Years" at the North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic last June. Closing out this collection of amazing performances is Ivan Neville & Dumpstaphunk with "Water," live at 'Busted on Bourbon Street' in Chicago last July.

Like the sounds of all that? You can have this in YOUR hand simply by becoming a Guardian of the Groove with a  $10 (or more) monthly or $120 one-time donation to the station. At this level, you'll receive CD #44, an 'OZ bumper sticker, and a membership card that gives you discounts at many local businesses.
