The Louisiana Seafood Festival returns this weekend, running Friday through Sunday, at City Park. Like all good festivals, this one includes plenty of food and plenty of great live, local music. The free festival features more than 25 food vendors showcasing 51 seafood dishes. Vendors include Jacques-Imo's, Miss Linda (The Ya-Ka-Mein Lady), and Cafe Reconcile. Each of the six Louisiana seafood species is represented in the festival’s menu – alligator, fish, crab, shrimp, crawfish, and oysters.

This is a family-friendly festival and, this year, the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation has partnered with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra to offer a Kids Tent. The kids' tent is open from 11a-4p each day. There's also a cooking pavilion featuring cooking demonstrations from top seafood chefs in the state, and an art village featuring photography, jewelry, sculpture, painting, folk art, and more.

Last year, over 55,000 people attended the festival.
