Victor Goines to Visit Jazz from the French Market

Clarinet and sax master Victor Goines with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will visit Jelly Roll Justice this Thursday on Jazz from the French Market around 5 p.m. Victor Goines is widely recognized as one of the most engaging and versatile performers, composers, collaborators and educators in music today. Drawing from his New Orleans roots, his extraordinary career includes performances throughout the world earning acclaim from audiences, critics, students and colleagues. Currently director of jazz studies and professor of music at Northwestern's Bienen School of Music, this graduate of St. Augustine High School has been with Jazz at Lincoln Center since 1993 and performed with the finest jazz and blues musicians in the world. He will be playing Friday night at Snug Harbor joining his mentor and friend the legendary Ellis Marsalis, and then at Snug again on Saturday with trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis and their Quintet.
