1) Lots to do across New Orleans on this beautiful Easter weekend. The Pigeon Town Steppers will be holding their annual second line parade on Sunday at 1p. Seal's Class Act will also be hosting their 20th annual Easter parade on Sunday at 1p. Both route sheetes can be found at WWOZ's Takin' It To The Streets.

2) 'Tis the season to be outside in New Orleans! Jazz in the Park's Spring 2017 season has started in earnest. Check out their lineup every week now through June 1 on their website. On Thursday, April 20, James Andrews & the Crescent City All-Stars and Free Agents Brass Band will perform. This free concert series happens every Thursday at Armstrong Park from 4-8p. YLC's free Wednesday at the Square series also continues with Big Sam's Funky Nation and Naughty Professor on Wednesday, April 19.

3) The Fifth Annual New Orleans Giant Puppet Festival starts on Wednesday, April 19. This year's fest will be split between The Mudlark Theatre (1200 Port St.) and
The Fortress of Lushington (2215 Burgundy St.). Check out the full lineup of amazing shows and puppetry. Some shows are kid friendly, some adults only, and everything in between.

4) Jazz Fest is less than 2 weeks away! The first day of the festival is Friday, April 28. Check out the striking rendering of funk legends The Meters on this year's official poster

5) On Tuesday, we'll welcome students from Dolores T. Aaron Academy into our studios for the April edition of Cuttin' Class. This band is led by director Andy Bower, a teacher who's doing some very interesting things with his program. Tune in at 1p to hear these young people perform a few songs and sit down to discuss their music education and futures with host Cole Williams!
