Upcoming Shows

Over 300 middle and high school students from the Greater New Orleans area will display the results of their scientific inquiry at the 64th Annual Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF), February 10 - 13 at the Tulane University Lavin-Bernick Center. Student exhibits will be on display to the public on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and Thursday morning. Additionally, student-led tours of the Loyola and Tulane University campuses will be coordinated for interested GNOSEF participants. Admission to public viewing days is free and open to the community. Since 1956, GNOSEF has encouraged independent student research in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). The Fair is open to any student nominated by their middle or high school within the designated, Region IX parishes of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and Plaquemines. Entrants fall into two divisions: Junior Division, comprised of middle school students (grades 6-8) and Senior Division, comprised of high school students (grades 9-12). More than $65,000 in cash/non-cash awards, prizes, grants and scholarships will be awarded to GNOSEF 2020 winners/teachers and schools, including a trip for four students and two teachers to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF) to be held May 10-15, 2020 in Anaheim, CA which draws nearly 1,800 students from 70 countries with more than $5 million in cash awards and prizes. Sixty category winners at the GNOSEF in New Orleans are also eligible to compete for state honors at the Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair (LSEF) held at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, March 16-18, 2020, with those winners also going on to the Regeneron ISEF. GNOSEF is presented by the Greater New Orleans Science Fair Inc., H. Britton Sanderford, the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation, Entergy Corporation, Paul and Patty Habeeb Muehlemann and Tulane University in partnership with Core Element, Loyola University, and Women for a Better Louisiana.
