Upcoming Shows

To kick off the 2019-20 school year, Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) is hosting a workshop for teachers and science fair coordinators embarking on the science project journey. The workshop takes place Saturday, Sept. 7, 9 AM - 1 PM at Tulane University. A $25 registration fee (which includes lunch) is required to confirm a spot. Upon completion of all 4 hours of the teacher workshop, each teacher will receive $125 ($100 stipend plus $25 deposit back) mailed to their home address. Participating teachers will also receive Science Fair Warm-Up, Grades 8-12: Learning the Practice of Scientists written by John Haysom and published by the National Science Teachers Association. Teachers will only receive the stipend if they attend all 4 hours. Also, teachers will not receive their $25 deposit back if they do not attend. The registration deadline is Friday, August 23 or until registration is full. The workshop is designed to help prepare teachers for the 64th Annual Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair to be held February 10-13, 2020 at Tulane University’s Lavin-Bernick Center. Attendees will be awarded a certificate after the four-hour training session, which can be submitted to their school district for requesting CLU (Continuing Learning Unit) credits. This workshop is made possible by H. Britton Sanderford, Jr., Patrick F. Taylor Foundation, Entergy Corporation, Paul and Patty Habeeb Muehlemann, Joe W. and Dorothy Dorsett Brown Foundation, and Tulane University.
