Maria Harmon FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 12/6/17 Step Up Louisiana 337-244-1517 Step Up Louisiana hosts its 1st Annual Gala We Live! New Orleans, LA: Friday, December 15, 2017 - 6-11pm at 2801 Banks St, Step Up Louisiana will be hosting its first annual gala and fundraiser for its inaugural year. In under 1 year of organizing we have done significant work to shift the politics in New Orleans. From our economic justice 3-point platform that elevated the issues of $15 Minimum Wage, Equal Pay and Ban the Box. In our education work we have sparked an important conversation about education equity, not the illusion of school choice, especially when it comes to school transportation and the citywide enrollment system. We will celebrate these victories!! We will articulate our vision for the year ahead! And we will fundraise to build resources so we can organize for the long haul. This gala is history in the making. We live! We will be featuring an open bar with a signature cocktail, live painting, live music, a DJ, delicious food, a dance performance and more! We will honor our members, allies and an elected leader who have made a profound impact this year. If you are interested in joining the host committee please email us! Prices for tickets: $50- full price ticket. $25- low wage worker, student, nonprofit ticket. $15- donation $100- host committee.
