In April 2017, juniors at G.W. Carver High School in New Orleans 9th Ward collaborated with local youth writing-focused nonprofit Big Class to publish a book of memories and historical reflections, which was released nationally and included in the Library of Congress. On December 12th, three of the book’s authors are coming together with acclaimed author Kiese Laymon to read from History Between These Folds and discuss the book, New Orleans, and the future. This event is free and open to the community.
