New Orleans, LA, July 12, 2017– New Orleans International Muralists will be hosting a press release event at New Orleans Lakefront Airport 6001 Stars and Stripes Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70126 in the atrium from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 14 2017. There will be complimentary refreshments courtesy of Wilma Heaton, Director of Governmental Affairs for the Flood Authority and Chair of the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. Cash bar not included. Additionally, musical accompaniment will be provided by Louis Ford and His New Orleans Flairs. Information will be provided about the permit granted by the Flood Authority for the first ever mural project on a floodwall in Orleans Parish. This event is free and open to the public. It will serve as a meet and greet for the artists involved. An unveiling of the 1st phase of the mural project and the overall direction NOIM is headed with this historical mural. There will be an opportunity to meet elected officials, community organizers, and business leaders. Your attendance will be greatly appreciated on July 14th, 2017. We are looking to create murals that are both culturally significant to the neighborhood, educational in nature, and historically relevant around this great city of New Orleans. We believe that murals are one of the best ways to create aesthetic beauty on a bare wall within a neighborhood that would otherwise not be utilized.
