Grown Folks Lab Band Performance Course

Tuesday, March 14, 2017 - 7:00pm to Saturday, April 22, 2017 - 8:00pm
Session Type: Adult Music Performance Class Adult musicians who are fluent on their instruments and who can read music at a basic level or above are invited to come out to play! Under the direction of acclaimed saxophonist, bandleader, composer and educator Khari Allen Lee (KhariAllenLee.com), this non-audition performance class is a chance to hone skills in ensemble performance and improvisation while networking with potential collaborators and passing a good time in a light, supportive atmosphere. The spring session will be a survey of New Orleans musical styles and rehearsals prepare participants for a final concert on April 22. Participants must provide their own instruments with the exception of keyboard and drums which will be available on site, along with vocal PA and amps for guitar and bass. To maximize "airtime" only two spots are available for all rhythm section seats as well as vocals, and horn spots are limited to four. Space is extremely limited and this non-audition course fills on a first-come, first-served basis. If you attempt to register and do not see your instrument of choice it may be sold out but you can contact us immediately to get on the wait list and to make sure we have you on our mailing list for future sessions and to put you on a contact list in case a spot opens up. Questions? Email musiclabnola@gmail.com or call 504-942-7606. Proceeds from the GFLB benefit Musicollaborative's children's programs.
