Back When the Good Times Rolled: Charles Muir Lovell Photographs, an exhibition of color photographs of New Orleans second line parades, will open at Art Conscious in Arabi, with an opening reception on Saturday, March 9, from 6 to 9 p.m.

During his 15 years in New Orleans, Lovell has taken thousands of photographs documenting second lines. 

The solo exhibition consists of over 80 photographs of New Orleans second lines and will continue through April 6.

As part of New Orleans’s Saint Claude Arts Districts Second Saturdays, bus transportation to Arabi is available from the Front and Good Children Gallery.

The photographs in this exhibit, taken between 2009 and 2021, were included in the 100-page large-format photography book, Back When the Good Times Rolled, published with support from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, who with Peers Art Exchange is sponsoring this exhibition.
