The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is a right of passage for many music fans across the country and it begins the very busy summer music festival season. I will be traveling the country this summer attending some of the smallest and largest music festivals around the country as well as visiting some historical music sites. You may follow my journey as I will be blogging about it here and sharing pictures along the way. My first stop will be Del Fest an incredible bluegrass festival in Cumberland, Maryland hosted by Del McCoury and his Family,  May 26-29. The second stop will be one of the largest festivals in the country Bonnaroo which has a NOLA connection as it's modeled somewhat after Jazz Fest and started by  a local production company that began with a group of Tulane students. Bonnaroo takes place June 9-12. RockyGrass July 29-31 and Telluride Jazz Festival August 5-7 are hopeful but not confirmed yet. I am also looking for ideas of other music festivals and music experiences around the country. Please email me through  the show hosts links if you have any suggestions. I will be setting a Facebook page that will also follow my travels. I hope to see some of you this summer in my travels.
