Tulane's radio station had a now legendary radio show every weekday from 4pm to 7pm. It was called World of Jazz. The focused on cool jazz and jazz fusion of the style developed by Miles Davis on Bitches Brew.
This show was SO great. I am SO glad that WWOZ has Jazz at the French Market every weekday at the same time slot as the legendary World of Jazz.
Found WWOZ recently. Listening from home and work all the time.
Can't get enough here in Chicago!
Did WTUL really defeat WWOZ in the category of Best Radio Station in the Best of the Beat Awards? OZ got beat by some college kids (albeit good college kids)? Does that mean I can start an under 24 months station and do better than OZ?
Hi, I just listened to about an hour of the Wednesday evening programme, 4-7 I believe if my timing back-tracking from Aussie time is not wrong and was SO VERY IMPRESSED by the presenter.
I did not catch his name but he said he was a "new kid on the block".
There have been some great shows of Christmas music on WWOZ this week. Really well thought out shows with great music. Actually, there have been too many great shows of Christmas music. We've inadvertently over-saturated the aether with what should be a novelty.
We've gotta regularly listen to each other's shows and check each other's playlists.
all-right!!!!!!!
I see show play lists are now posted in a timely fashion. Thanks! Please don't let it slip to previous habits. If up-coming fund drives are responsible for the attention, I am sure it will result in additional or increased donations to the best radio station in the world.
Listening in Atlanta.
