Program: Jazz from the French Market with Sondra Bibb
Jazz fans came out fast and strong during our Pledge Drive and paid their respects to show host Charlie Burchell by joining the WWOZ family or renewing their memberships.
We were cookin' with the Thelonious Monk Institute Sextet playing three hot tunes and bringing their virtuosity and joy to the show!
Yes!! That is what WWOZ is about.
Rob Weiss did the pitching and Luis Capuchina, Robin "The Lafource Lady" Bordelon, Francis Davis, Laura Lake and Molly Cobb answered the phones as we surpassed our goals. This was especially important because it meant we had a matching grant from Capitol One Bank that more than generous.
Thank you all for supporting your jazz and heritage community radio station.
