Playlist for November 11, 2010 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM

Current New Orleans Time: Sat, 2:49am

Playlist Date & Time: 11/11/2010 4:00PM - 7:00PM

Program: Jazz from the French Market with Jelly Roll Justice or Suzanne Corley

This is Veteran's Day and we send our respects and best wishes to those veterans who truly fought for the freedom and civil liberties we enjoy.  This program is dedicated to my wife's father, Capt. Edward Rimpau, who fought during World War II in Europe against fascism and bigotry.

Rick Trolsen stopped by to speak about his new CD release "Neslort" (Trolsen spelled backwards) and generously shared his thoughts about jazz, composing and the album.

We also pay respects and wish Happy Birthday to the giant Mose Allison (b. 1927).  This is also the birthdate of Louisiana trumpeter John Willie Cook who played with the Ellington Orchestra for many years before moving to Sweden (d. 2000).
