Program: Blues in the Night with Jamie Dell'Apa

Esoteric Theme Night

The French Quarter has a daily cycle four social realities based on a progression of resident's inebriation - work, dinner, drunk and the terrible collision between night and work.  Programming music for the biggest drunk shift of Saturday night means framing the music with dialog clips and musical themes for the truly inebriated.  Absurdity and non-sense is the listener flypaper for Saturday night.

I must be losing my touch because last Saturday night, I received calls from not one but two sobers in a row.  When the phone rang for the third time, I hid behind the equipment rack until it went away.  Later I received an e-mail from Kevin in Bardstown, KY telling me he was the third sober caller!  Shudder.  Dwayne is sure to fire me unless I reclaim my sound this week.  More esoterica to screen out the sobers.

Playlist Tracks

Fabio

Fabio, Earl Long and Sarah Palin have nearly perfect radio voices. Unique sound sure but their messages are both predictable and train wrecks. I gotta get some of that Steven Segal kung fu cop clips.
