Program: Contemporary Jazz with Mockingbird

This week, I've been watching old movies set in tropical climes:  thus, the Island influence in a lot of the tracks this morning.

The superb drummer Rashied Ali passed away this week, so we listen to a few tracks that feature Ali's incredible work with John Coltrane, toward the end of Coltrane's life, at (one of) the beginning(s) of Ali's blossomings.

Check out my blog-thing for lots more descriptive modifiers about these two events.
