Program: Blues in the Night with Jamie Dell'Apa
On the first hot and humid day of spring, we all turn on our air conditioners and overload the underground electrical transformers. Picture big explosions, blue flame, thick black chemical / plastic smoke and screaming tourists who naively believe exploding streets are an Iraqi phenomena. As part of the WWOZ celebration of ALL New Orleans culture we start tonight's show with music of fire, explosions, and smoke. (And no repeat songs from last year's barge crash show, Diesel on the Water although the Pat Boone version of Smoke on the Water was a temptation.)
And who is that drunken frat boy goofy ball who calls my shows boring.

Jamie is boring and a know-it-all
Link is to a power plant explosion. Picture the same thing under a street in a heavy-traveled tourist area.
