Playlist for March 27, 2009 from 4:00PM - 7:00PM

Current New Orleans Time: Fri, 5:01am

Playlist Date & Time: 3/27/2009 4:00PM - 7:00PM

Program: Jazz from the French Market with Vin Chary

Jelly Roll sat in today for the irreplaceable Judy Wood.

The highlight of the show was a 50 minute interview with Sonny Fortune with some of his incredible music intermittently played.  His wisdom, generosity of mind and feelings, and his insightful stories came together to create another miraculous event that WWOZ and its listeners seems to celebrate again and again.

We also had a visit from the great jazz vocalist Betty Shirley, played a couple of her tunes and heard of her upcoming gigs.

Finally, Erin Black from the Tennessee Williams Fest came by and gave a run down of this fabulous drama and literature and musical festival celebrating its 23rd year this weekend!!
