Shamarr Allen "When You're Smiling" Meet Me on Frenchmen Street Pome 2007 This is the most outstanding debut album from a New Orleans artist I've heard in a long time. I believe it will become iconic. |
Danny Barker "Eh La Bas" Eh La Bas! Orleans 2002 Soon there should be listings for the Second Annual Danny Barker Birthday festival during the second week in January (he was born on Jan. 13). Danny Barker is one of the most influential New Orleans musicians' musician of all time. |

I received mine as a Christmas present in 2005. Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans? This holiday gift helped me through those tough times. |

Ytres Soloens Jass-Ensemble, featuring Tricia Boutte "Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus" Oh Mahalia Herman 2007 One amazing thing about this track is the intricate and precise backing vocals. There is so much that goes into the attraction of this recording. Take the percussion for another instance... This cd was on many "Best of 2007" lists last year. |
Bob French "Bourbon Street Parade" Marsalis Music Honors Bob French Marsalis Music 2007 With Branford marsalis and harry Connick, Jr. returning to play with the man who they played with as youngsters, this cd is a circle completed beautifully.
