Election Selections
A couple days before the quadrennial half-and-half holiday where the half the country celebrates a boring version of Fat Tuesday and the other half wonders if they can learn Spanish or outlast the Canadian winter. Tonight's show avoids this zero sum situation by playing music that avoids the merits of next Tuesday's selection. How the hell are you gonna do that?

Ronald Reagan and George Bush
Various Quotes
George Bush starts us as usual with his review of my radio show and personality. Nah. He doesn't listen to WWOZ.
Reagan's quote about outer space aliens is inexplicable.

Mike Curb Congregation
Nixon Now!
WFMU.org "On the Download"
Enough contemporary political personalities, let's sneak up on this theme by listening to the dinosaurs of politics.
The first presidential debate was from Belmont University in Nashville, TN from "the stage of the Mike Curb Theater(?)" Having just collected this song from WFMU, I started laughing at the irony of Jim Lehrer's introduction. Mike Curb of the Mike Curb Congregation's "Nixon Now" song. Oh this is too goofy.

Reverend Billy C. Wirtz
Get Off My Lawn!
John McCain was dubbed the grouchy old guy who yells at the neighborhood kids to "Get off my lawn." You wouldn't think there is a song to match this characterization but you wouldn't think there is a musician like Billy Wirtz. Peggy Lou loves to tell how Billy used to manage professional wrestlers and even married a little person wrestler during the early part of his career. After listening to professional wrestlers turned singers such as Freddy Blassie and Lou Albano's I can assure only Wirtz has successfully bridged the wrestling-to-musician brain barrier.
