Playlist Date & Time: 9/11/2008 9:00AM - 11:00AM
Program: Traditional Jazz
This show's broadcast happened to take place between 9 - 11am on 9/11. It was also a few days after the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and just after New Orleanians returned from an evacuation of the city due to Hurricane Gustav. At the same time, Hurricane Ike was in the Gulf of Mexico, bearing down on Galveston, Houston TX and adjacent areas.
The music chosen for this playlist is a reflection upon the preciousness of life, and a compassion and empathy for those suffering from violent tragedies throughout the world. The healing power of music was invoked to offer a degree of comfort and protection.
