Undoubtedly my most memorable show. In studio guests the Under Secretary of Swing Maria and her Faithful Manservant Reg were in town celebrating their anniversary. They pulled titles and searched relentlessly for requested Cleo Brown (to no avail) who I hadn't heard of, but will now pick up at some point. I always appreciate suggestions for artists I do not yet know. That's how you learn, people. I've known these two since way back in the day when my jazz collection was in its infancy. Maria expanded my Cab Calloway collection and exposed me to Brit Ska band Madness. In turn I introduced her to the Mound City Blue Blowers and the nutty goodness of a Fats Waller organ solo. Good friends are always appreciated. Maria helps me with artists birthdays and without her help the show wouldn't be regularly tuned into in Hamburg. I took them thru the Lower 9 and we picked up some Loretta's pralines after. Friends like Maria and Reg make doing the show a pleasure and honour for me every week.
