Saturday @ Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival
WWOZ will be broadcasting live on Saturday and Sunday from the seventh annual Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival, presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. The fest celebrates Southern soul with the best in local and international blues and R&B talent, plus the greatest assemblage of home-style barbecue to be found in New Orleans. Admission is free!

Irvin Mayfield & NOJO 10th Anniversary Live Broadcast from Carnegie Hall
WWOZ will be broadcasting this incredible night of music live from Carnegie Hall in New York City on Monday, October 8th at 7pm CDT. The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2002 by Irivin Mayfield when he realized that New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz, did not have an istitution dedicated to the business of its musical legacy. Over the past 10 years NOJO has headlined performances at major venues around the country, inaugurated New Orleans' first ticketed jazz concert series, established educational programs for young musicians in conjunction with the University of New Orleans, and certainly not to be forgotton: NOJO's last album "BOOK ONE" earned a 2010 Grammy Award for "Best Large Jazz Ensemble."

Patti Austin: Live in Concert
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation presents the incomparable Patti Austin in an intimate evening of song on Friday, May 18, in the Lupin Theater at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. All proceeds benefit the Heritage School of Music.
A Grammy Award winner, Patti made her debut at the Apollo Theater at age four and had a contract with RCA Records when she was only five. Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington have proclaimed themselves as her godparents.
Fifty-three years after getting her first record contract, Patti Austin was awarded her first Grammy, winning Best Jazz Vocal Album for Avant Gershwin at the 50th annual Grammy Awards. The award came for her ninth nomination in that category.
A small number of "Gold Circle" seats are available, which come with a champagne reception with the artist following the performance.
