WWOZ joins with sister station KUVO to broadcast a special benefit concert hosted by the Friends of New Orleans, live from the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado. The "New Orleans All-Star Jam-Balaya" features a truly all-star line-up of New Orleans musicians.

Artists scheduled to perform at the Sunday night concert include Allen Toussaint with the Meters, James Andrews, The Wetlands All-Stars with Tab Benoit, George Porter, Jr., Cyril Neville, Waylon Thibodeaux, Johnny Sansone, Anders Osborne, Johnny Vidacovich, Irma Thomas, Marva Wright, Marcia Ball, Donald Harrison, Jr., Kirk Joseph, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews, The Soul Rebels, The Wild Tchoupitoulas Mardi Gras Indians, Lauren Barrett, Mary McBride, Henry Butler, Walter "Wolfman" Washington, Terence Blanchard and Randy Newman.

WWOZ is broadcasting live from the Satchmo SummerFest, a free two-day music festival at the Old U.S. Mint that also includes a world-reknown music symposium, an art show and the Satchmo Club Strut, all in honor of New Orleans' favorite son, the great Louis Armstrong.

The Mint will host live performances on four stages all day on Saturday and Sunday with some of New Orleans' finest traditional jazz, brass band and contemporary jazz music, along with hands-on workshops and performances for children.

Show host Sherwood Collins will visit with Larry Sieberth, pianist and musical director for Joint’s Jumpin’, the New Orleans R&B revue that debuts this weekend at Harrah’s Ballroom. Vocalists from Joint’s Jumpin’ will also be participating in this special in-studio performance.

This festival is part of the New Orleans Vieux-To-Do, which combines three summer festivals into one. Based in the newly re-furbished French Market, the Tomato Festival features two music and food stages, one in the Farmer’s Market and a Latin stage at Dutch Alley. There will be 20 booths offering Creole favorites and local chefs putting on cooking demonstrations at both stages. WWOZ will be broadcasting from the Farmer’s Market Stage (located at Ursuline Street near the French Market).
