'OZone Newsletter

Dear Listener,

I was born and raised in New Orleans, but the city still constantly surprises me with pockets of tradition tucked away in every neighborhood, church, bar, social club, and krewe. And every year, we celebrate our multiple personalities with that ultimate homage we call Mardi Gras.

It's not just Bourbon Street or the corner of Second and Dryades — our Carnival tableau is filled with unique versions of Mardi Gras. I invite the 'OZilian nation to fan out into every crook and cranny of the city and send us your photos of gangs, krewes, wandering spasm bands, and other deranged manifestations of our Collective Self. And for those of you in exile, I have faith that you are creating your own special Fat Tuesday disturbances wherever you are, and we want you to send us your pixel-ations too. There's even a contest and a prize involved. See details below.

Through the magic of our web stream, let's all link up in this global Mardi Gras second-line — where we can, just for one magical moment, impose New Orleans' special brand of madness upon the rest of the planet.

Yours in marabou and flambeaux,
