Trumpeter Mario Abney is one of the most soft-spoken musicians in New Orleans off the bandstand. And if you think he's a one-trick pony, guess again: This talented multi-instrumentalist can often be seen on the bandstand behind the drums and at the keyboard. He's played with stars like Wynton Marsalis and Erykah Badu, but his own contemporary jazz group--the Mario Abney Quintet--is soaring sky high.
