Our Fall Membership Drive is coming up and we want YOU to come on down to the station to help us make this season's drive our best yet. The drive is September 25th - October 5th and we are looking for phone bank volunteers to help us sign up new and recurring members as they support WWOZ and our mission of bringing New Orleans music to the universe!
Now Once a month students in Preservation Hall's free, weekly traditional jazz education program are learning to weave the rhythms and culture of West Africa into the brass and jazz styling of New Orleans music. Educators from AfricaNOLA's Africa Brass Master's Series will be at Preservation Hall October 13th.
October 14: The Prince of Wales & Lady Whales Social Aid & Pleasure Club second line will be parading in the 12th Ward. This week we are featuring an interview with Joe Stern, the Prince of Wales VP, and of course, the route sheet is up. Use it! There's no better way to dance off the BBQ.

What's the Crude Step 2-Step? Find out on August 25th when the Louisiana Bucket Brigade hosts a Dance-A-Thon at Cafe Istanbul from 2pm to 2 am. Rally a team and head on down to raise money for this fantastic organization. There will be dance classes - from salsa to hip hop to second line - every hour, music by the Stooges Brass Band, food & prizes. Rest up, it's a Dance-A-Thon!
In the months following the failure of the federal levee system in New Orleans, a group of 31 community radio stations from around the world lent a much-needed hand as WWOZ struggled to stay on the air. WWOZ salutes this group of stations — now affectionately called the Katrina Network — for embodying the true spirit of community radio.
