Venue Status: Open
Over the past two decades, The Howlin’ Wolf has evolved from a small bar in Fat City to a 1000 capacity room in the heart of New Orleans’ Warehouse District.
In October 2005, The Howlin’ Wolf made another upgrade, moving a block down South Peters to an even larger space. And while The Howlin' Wolf's stage has been graced by some of the biggest names in national talent, such as Foo Fighters; Ozomatli; Buckethead; Keith Urban; Jimmy Page; Fleet Foxes; Hank Williams III; Arturo Sandoval; Derek Trucks; Medeski, Martin & Wood; of Montreal; and Steve Winwood (just to name a few), the nightclub has also been a haven for local acts that may not fit the traditional New Orleans style.
The Howlin’ Wolf is also an active participant in the community. The Howlin' Wolf's non-profit division has raised tens of thousands of dollars for numerous charities, which include Habitat for Humanity, Global Green, the Preservation Resource Center, New Orleans Musicians Clinic and many more.
Over the years, the Howlin' Wolf has become more than just a music venue; it has expanded to include Howlin' Wolf Management, which proudly represents The Rebirth Brass Band, who recently celebrated it’s 25th anniversary, and Howlin’ Wolf Productions, a full-scale festival and private function organizer, which recently organized the New Orleans Seafood Festival on Fulton Street.
