The New Orleans Children’s Chorus announces a Concert for the Concert Chorus and Northlake Chorus on Sunday, May 19 at 5 PM. The performance will be held at the Lakeview Presbyterian Church, 5914 Canal Blvd. and will be directed by NOCC Artistic Director Cheryl Dupont. This concert will feature the repertoire which these choirs will sing at Carnegie Hall in New York on May 26, with professional orchestra and five other youth choirs, under the direction of NOCC Artistic Director, Cheryl Dupont. The program features music of Pergolesi, Rene Clausen, Karl Jenkins and Caldwell & Ivory, as well as a song cycle called This Day, written as a gift to NOCC by English composer Bob Chilcott after Hurricane Katrina.
Come swing with The Yat Pack, a New Orleans-based band that brings back the swing era with a Vegas flair. Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, Buble, Cocker, Connick, Frogman... you name it, we'll play it if it's swingin'!
**PLEASE NOTE** that the Divine Ladies are dedicating this parade to Stopping the Violence, all of the victims from last Sunday's shooting and, with extra special love, to Deborah Cotton.
