The Xavier University Jazz Festival is a three-day event which highlights various genres of the Jazz art form. Scheduled for the 2013 festival is Dr. Michael White and the Original Liberty Brass Band on April 16, Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis and his group on April 17, and the internationally recognized saxophonist, Donald Harrison on April 18. Harrison will bring the Festival to a close as featured guest with the Xavier University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Tim Turner.
All performances start at 7pm.
Composition Degree Recital on April 17 at 8:00 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center at the University of New Orleans.
The concert will feature the Choir of John Calvin Presbyterian Church singing several of W.R. Memmott's choral works; W.R. Memmott will play a suite for solo piano; tenor David I. J. Bloom will perform two art song cycles; and an ensemble of instrumentalists will play solo works and a Piano Quartet.
