On Thursday, February 20th at 7:30pm Ray Fransen's Drum Center will be hosting a spectacular drum clinic with the amazing Terry Bozzio of Frank Zappa and Missing Persons fame. Terry was recently rated #12 in Modern Drummer Magazine's 50 Top Drummers of all time. His unique approach to playing solo on his specially designed (huge) kit is unparalleled. He will also be accompanied by percussionist Tom Shelley.

Five of New Orleans’ most innovative jazz artists will reunite at Loyola University New Orleans Thursday, Feb. 20 for the second annual All-Star Jam, a Jazz Underground concert celebrating the historic jam session tradition of New York City’s mid-century jazz scene.
The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Satchmo’s in the Danna Student Center on Loyola’s main campus and will feature guitarist Steve Masakowski, drummer Johnny Vidacovich, bassist Roland Guerin, pianist Mike Esneault and saxophonist Tony Dagradi.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for Loyola faculty and staff, and free for Loyola students. Tickets are available online or by calling 504-865-2074, and will also be available at the door 30 minutes prior to the performance. Free parking is available in the West Road Garage, accessible from St. Charles Avenue.
Continuing the celebration of Carnival on Thursday, February 20, Big Chief Donald Harrison and the Congo Square Nation will be playing the Friends of the Cabildo Concert Series Concert at the Old U.S. Mint at 7 p.m. Harrison, a world-renowned jazz musician is also a member of the Guardians of the Flame Mardi Gras Indians that his father founded.
