Back in the '50s, it was the Big Beat Sound of New Orleans that excited young radio listeners around the country. Many of those bands and performers are well into their seventies and eighties these days, and rarely if ever perform. Now there is a chance to hear some of that great music lovingly redone by very talented present-day New Orleans musicians.
Musical director & pianist Larry Sieberth has put together a classic New Orleans R&B revue called "Joint's Jumpin'," and indeed Harrah's will be hopping as this all-star special opens for one weekend from July 11 to the 13th. The music of Fats Domino, Huey "Piano" Smith, Smiley Lewis, Lloyd Price and so many more will be featured.
The theater is a comfortable non-smoking venue, and good seats are still available, so don't delay on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. To purchase great seats (before the major advertising and marketing campaign begins), call Harrah's box office at (504) 533-6600 (Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 7 p.m.) and give them the code: JULES JOINT.
