The Sankofa Farmers Market was established to satisfy a need for healthy produce in New Orleans’ underserved and low income communities. It is the only open-air fresh market in the Ninth Ward area within a five-mile radius of the Treme, Seventh Ward, Faubourg Marigny, French Quarter, Gentilly and Mid-City neighborhoods. Founded in 2010, the Farmers Market continues to grow with new vendors and products.

This class starts on Friday, June 7th from 5:30pm-7:00pm and runs weekly through Friday, August 16th.
10-week evidence-based program for men that focuses on using male strengths as the base upon which to build effective relationship and parenting skills. Group members who successfully complete will participate in a graduation ceremony and receive a certificate of completion. Course topics include: The Roots of Fathering & Fathering “The Little Boy Within”; The Power to Meet My Own Needs; The World of Feelings and Male Nurturance; The Power to Nurture: Fathering without Violence or Fear; Overcoming Barriers to Nurturing Fathering; Discipline and Fun & Games; Fathering Sons/Fathering Daughters; Teamwork between Father and Spouse/Co-parent; Time and Place for Fathering & Healing the Father Wound; and Commitment to My Family.
