Bike MS: Dat's How We Roll is the annual two-day cycling event raising money to create a world free of multiple sclerosis. It covers 150 miles through the countryside of Louisiana and Mississippi. This year's event is on Oct 10-11, 2015.

The NOTC Anniversary Race will include three mile and kids’ half-mile races in New Orleans City Park. In celebration of the 52 years of the New Orleans Track Club, the event will include an induction of the 2015 NOTC Hall of Fame honorees, awarding of 2015 College Scholarships and age-adjusted awards for the top 10 male and female runners.

NOLA Bluedoo Community Lecture on Prostate Cancer

In recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Tulane Cancer Center will host the NOLA Bluedoo Community Lecture on Prostate Cancer on Thursday, September 3, 2015, 5:30 p.m., in the 1st floor conference room of the Louisiana Cancer Research Center, 1700 Tulane Ave. (corner of Tulane and S. Claiborne). Oliver Sartor, M.D., one of the few medical oncologists in the world specializing in prostate cancer and head of Tulane's Prostate Cancer Research Program, will discuss the latest in research and treatment and will answer attendees' questions. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served and complimentary parking is available in the LCRC Garage, accessible at the rear of the building from S. The New Orleans Bluedoo Walk/Run/Party is a two-mile walk, run and party. The race will benefit the Prostate Cancer Research Fund at Tulane University. The NOLA Bluedoo Walk/Run/Party is open to all runners and walkers, NOTC members and nonmembers alike, as well as party participants. Participants are encouraged to costume in blue – the color of prostate cancer awareness – for the event.

Second Annual NOLA Bluedoo Party/Walk/Run

Tulane Cancer Center, in partnership with the New Orleans Track Club, hosts the NOLA Bluedoo Party/Walk/Run. The two-mile route will take walkers/runners on a tour of Tulane's Uptown campus. Race registration is $25 thru July 31 ($30 Aug 1 thru race day); college/med students with ID pay $15. If you don’t want to walk/run, a $15 Party Pass allows access to the celebration, including food, beverages, a silent auction, a kids’ tent, and entertainment by Wendell Brunious and the New Orleans All Stars, the Laissez Boys of New Orleans and more. Emmy Winner Christian Jules LeBlanc, who stars in CBS’s The Young and the Restless, will serve as grand marshal. The event will raise awareness of prostate cancer, while sponsorships/silent auction proceeds will benefit Tulane’s Prostate Cancer Research Fund. Blue costumes encouraged. Last fall's inaugural event attracted 600 participants and raised $137,000.

On Saturday, September 26, Tipitina’s Foundation will host its 4th Annual Tipitina’s Foundation Rhythm & Blues 5K Run fundraiser, which raises money to support New Orleans area elementary, middle and high school marching band programs – some of whom will be performing along the race route.

This event will raise funds to support music education throughout the Greater New Orleans area. For the celebration, Tipitina’s Foundation will coordinate an outdoor festival along the neutral ground following the 5k run with live music, costume award giveaways for best dressed musicians or bands, refreshments, and food donated from a number of local restaurants. Run starts at 5pm with the outdoor festival to immediately follow!
