It’s time to gear up for the sixth annual Monster Dash! Join us this October for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's most spooktacular, family friendly event. On the morning of Saturday, October 10, more than 600 runners will race through the streets in costume. After the 5k run, participants will enjoy food, drinks and live entertainment. Everyone dressed in costume can compete for great prizes in our costume contest at the post-race party. Registration begins at 8AM; the race starts at 9AM.
The LSU AgCenter will be hosting an open house day at the LaSalle Park Vegetable Garden. Your horticulture extension agent for Jefferson Parish, Sarah Bertrand, along with Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to give tours and answer any horticulture questions. The garden the garden is a living classroom demonstrating year round vegetable growing techniques for the New Orleans Area. There will also be activities available for Children so bring out the whole family. The LaSalle Park Vegetable Garden is brought to you by the LSU AgCenter in cooperation with Jefferson Beautification, Inc.
The event will be held from 9am-12pm Saturday October 17th. The garden is located on Stable Drive across from the New Orleans Zephyrs Baseball Stadium.

In addition to all the fun, you'll be supporting a great cause! The Magnolia on the River Gala will help us build a new 5,000 sq. foot Wellness Center on the Magnolia Community Services main campus. The center will address the health needs of our clients by providing a holistic wellness environment, including medical service delivery, physical therapy, and accessible exercise and recreational space.
Smoothie King has launched the Smoothie King Race Team with New Orleans Pelicans superstar, Jrue Holiday, serving as honorary captain. Race team participants have the chance to meet Jrue Holiday at area races throughout the year. The New Orleans Athletic Club (NOAC) will host the 108th Annual NOAC Turkey Day Race on Thursday, November 26, 2015. The NOAC Turkey Day race benefits the Spina Bifida of Greater New Orleans. The NOAC Turkey Day Race includes a 5-mile and a Youth Half Mile race open to all runners and walkers, NOAC and NOTC members and nonmembers alike.
