Copyright Workshop for Musicians

In this workshop, we will walk through the basics of copyright law, focusing on the specific needs of musicians, including players, songwriters, record labels, and publishing companies. Musicians will learn about the rights they have in their work, and how to use those rights to maintain creative and financial control over their projects. Most importantly, the class is free and open to the public! (The door may be locked, so don't hesitate to knock or call if you need to get in.)

NOTE: This workshop is an overview of certain areas of law concerning copyright, and is intended for educational purposes only. The workshop will not provide legal advice. If you have a specific legal problem, you should consult an attorney. The workshop instructors may be able to put you in touch with attorneys if needed.

Want to make a difference in a child’s life? Become a CASA New Orleans Advocate! CASA New Orleans fights for the rights of abused and neglected children. CASA volunteers advocate on behalf of children (birth to 18+) in foster care. A CASA volunteer offers a child trust and advocacy during complex legal proceedings. Interacting and explaining to the child what is going on, the CASA may be the only stable and continuous presence in the child’s life.

Come to one of our orientation on Thursday, September 10th st noon to learn more!

All orientations are located at 1340 Poydras St. NOLA 70112 in our office on the 21st floor.

The duties carried out by a CASA are extremely important. No special education or skills are required. We provide thorough training and continual support.

Just the Right Attitude's 1st Annual Gala

We cordially invite you to walk the Red Carpet at JTRA’s 1st Annual Gala. We will be honoring New Orleans own Sheriff Marlin N. Gusman for his dedication and commitment to our organization. Also, we will present an award of appreciation to a very special person of JTRA.

Tickets are $75.00 per person, or $650.00 for a table which will seat eight.

Just the Right Attitude was founded in 1999 to combat hunger and provide aid and comfort to the less fortunate.

Founder and Executive Director Debra S. Jones was a disabled, single mother of two, and understood the challenging times and struggles of the people in her community. Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, she has built an organization that serves New Orleans East, Gentilly, St. Bernard, Downtown, and Uptown, along with other areas in Orleans Parish.

JTRA is family oriented, and provides a variety of crucial services to the homeless, those who are sick and shut in, the working poor, and senior citizens.
