Prospect 3: Notes for Now

- On Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m., “Prospect.3: Notes for Now” will officially open to the public with a ribbon cutting and second line parade in Washington Square Park, located at 700 Elysian Fields Avenue. Immediately following, Mrs. Leah Chase, Prospect New Orleans board member, and owner of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant will host a luncheon for all attendees in the park.

Voodoo On The Bayou

Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association’s twenty-fifth annual Voodoo On The Bayou will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 8:30 p.m. to midnight at the historic Pitot House, 1440 Moss Street. This wonderful neighborhood event raises funds that go to support a multitude of community projects and neighborhood outreach efforts, such as Desmare Playground, the NOPD First District, Bounty on the Bayou Children’s Halloween event, the Re-Bridge project, and much more. This costume gala will have a silent auction fundraiser, fortune tellers, delicious food and drinks, as well as live music from Lips & The Trips and Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington. The event is open to the public and admission is $50 per person in advance or $60 at the door. Tickets are available at Terranova’s, Swirl Wines, Pal’s or online at www.fsjna.org.

Notes for Now: A Panel Discussion

- The grand opening festivities will conclude on Sunday, October 26 at 1 p.m. with Notes for Now: A Panel Discussion, featuring contributors to the Prospect.3 catalogue. The panel will be co-moderated by Sirmans and Prospect New Orleans Development Manager Elizabeth Baribeau. The event is free, open to the public, and will take place at Dillard University in the Professional School Building, located at 2601 Gentilly Boulevard.

Boudin Bourbon & Beer

The fourth annual Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s Bourbon, Boudin & Beer festival returns on November 7th at Champions Square. This celebration of Louisiana culture features boudin and artisan sausages from 50 of the country’s best chefs. Abita will pour its flagship beers and specialty selections, and Buffalo Trace will provide an array of bourbon cocktails. Grace Potter will headline the roster of great music, including Brooklyn-based The Lone Bellow and Louisiana favorites Pine Leaf Boys and Sweet Crude. Co-chaired by Emeril Lagasse and Donald Link, the funds raised benefit Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which supports children’s educational programs, life skills development initiatives, culinary training, and cultural enrichment. Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.boudinbourbonandbeer.com or in a limited quantity at the gate. Ticket admission price includes all food, beverage and musical entertainment.

Along with the great food, there will be free live entertainment from 6:30pm – 9:30pm on the front lawn of Treasure Chest over looking Lake Pontchartrain with the funky sounds of Papa C and the Slammin' Horns.
