Straight from the trenches of the French Quarter, Sketchy Characters will invade One Eyed Jacks for ONE night and ONE night only. Join us as we take you on the edgiest ride you’ve ever been on.

SKETCHTOWN is a raucous sketch comedy spectacle that can only be described as “Outrageous.”

BOURBON WHIZ is our first musical web series based on the classic Wizard of Oz. We follow Dotty as she tries to buy alcohol on a Sunday in a dry county somewhere in Kansas, then gets denied and ends up taking some magical mushrooms. She gets whisked away in a tornado to the crazy old land of New Orleans. Be with her when she meets the crackhead, strippers, Liars, and Beggars, and Beer OH MY!!

COREY MACK will be the MC for the evening (CORYMACK.US) as well as live performances, burlesque, GOGO Dancers, and DJ Fayard!!

Musicollaborative is excited to announce its upcoming FamJam Playshops for children 18 months-age 6 and the adults who love them. On Saturday, May 25th, Musicollaborative will present a Parent-Child FamJam at 10am for parents and their children 18mos-age 3, as well as a Multi-Age FamJam at 11:30 for siblings 18mos-6 years and their caregivers. Registration is now open for these affordable sessions hosted by the Annette West Music Studio near Tipitina's uptown. The FamJams will highlight the musical styles of New Orleans and south Louisiana, while offering opportunities to explore hand drums, movement and singing. Motown Records and Casablanca Filmworks produced this fun, music- and dance-filled 1978 feature film about a wild night at a Los Angeles discotheque, co-starring Donna Summer (whose "Last Dance" won the Academy Award for Best Song that year) and The Commodores, plus early film roles from Terri Nunn (future lead singer of new wave rock group Berlin) and Jeff Goldblum, as well as the first major film appearance from actress Debra Winger.

Beat those hurricane season blues! StormFest 2013 consists of several parts: a Preparedness Fair, an Outdoor Fest, and a Mini FilmFest, at Holy Angels in the Bywater.

Preparedness Fair includes Evacuteer.org, LA Bucket Brigade, LA-SPCA, St. Anna’s Medical Mission, NOLA Techie, Entergy New Orleans, and more. Outdoors at the Fest, music from the Goodchldren Band and the Bucket Brigade Drummers, a giant parachute, giant puppets, make-and-take bucket drums and magic pinwheels. Food and beverage vendors include Sankofa HEAL, Gimme Tacos, EmpaNOLA, and Austin’s Gourmet to Go.

Film screenings will take place in the Chapel, and include: “We Shall Not Be Moved”, “Hexing a Hurricane”, “The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore”, “Musical Therapy”, and “Flood Streets”.

Following the Fest, we will gather and process to the River for Horns Against Hurricanes, a musicians ritual since 2007.

On Sunday June 2nd @ 5:00 P.M. The Friends Of Mount Olivet Church at 530 Pelican Avenue in Algiers Point are presenting a free concert by Esteemed Organist Maximilian Tenney on their newly renovated 1924 Möller organ.

CASA New Orleans (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is an agency that advocates on behalf of children (birth to 18+) who have been judged victims of abuse and/or neglect. A CASA volunteer offers a child trust and advocacy during complex legal proceedings. Interacting and explaining to the child what is going on, the CASA may be the only stable and continuous presence in the child’s life.

The duties carried out by a CASA are extremely important. No special education or skills are required. We provide thorough training and continual support.

Come celebrate all that we love about the coast while supporting the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. All proceeds from the event benefit our mission of restoring and protecting the coast! Our 20th Anniversary Gala is on the horizon! We will be celebrating our twentieth anniversary in pure style. Mr. Legs is parody of a beauty pageant featuring male contestants in costumes and shorts. The contestant that raises the most money for Bridge House / Grace House through ticket sales, sponsors or donations is Mr. Legs. Prizes are awarded to the top three contestants, plus best costume, hairiest legs, sexiest legs, etc. selected by Celebrity Judges. Event features food, a complementary bar 6-8 PM, music, a raffle and silent auction. Sponsorship begins at $250 and tickets are $45 at the door. Art Melt opens July 20th at the Louisiana State Museum in downtown Baton Rouge. This multimedia, juried exhibit is the largest in the state, featuring spectacular works for purchase by Louisiana artists. To celebrate the exhibit opening, a bevy of delicious food and beverage trucks will rev up the fun, as will live music by The Scorseses and performances by other bands and area talent groups like Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre and Swine Palace. www.artmelt.org
