V-Day, Ashé, and Women Donors Network, Culture Project present Swimming Upstream, directed by Eve Ensler (author of The Vagina Monologues).

Written by 16 women, this docudrama is described as "a testimony, a prayer, a hallelujah, an incantation. It tells the raw and soulful stories of women who lived through Hurricanes Katrina and Rita with grace, rage, humor, strength and great resiliency. The cast includes: Celebrities Shirley Knight and Kerry Washington; Locals Anne Liese Juge Fox, Karen-kaia Livers, Troi Bechet, Asali DeVan Ecclesiastes; Singers Michaela Harrison and Leslie Blackshear Smith.
